FIRST AID COURSES


All organisations must ensure by law that they have a sufficient number of employees who possess a first-aid qualification to fulfill their first-aid needs at all times  Heathcote training can ensure personnel are available to deal with a medical emergency.
we offer a 2 hour Kidsafe workshop, peadaictric first aid, emergency first aid at work and First aid at work including the re- qualification.

First Aid at Work (3 days)

The RQF Level 3 First Aid at Work Qualification covers a wide range of practical skills, CPR and first aid skills needed by a first aider in the workplace.

Who should attend?
Nominated workplace first aiders, or anyone wanting to learn life saving skills

What will you learn?
The qualification will give you confidence as a first aider, how to assess an incident and recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness. 
 
What will the course teach me?
The qualification covers a number of subjects in first aid these include:
  •  CPR and use of an AED
  • Management of an unresponsive casualty 
  • Assisting a casualty who is suffering from injury
  • Managing a bleed
  • Heart attacks
  • Stroke
  • Choking
  • Burns and Scalds 
  • Chest injuries, 
  • Spinal injuries 
  • Anaphylaxis. 
  • Seizures
  • Diabetes
  • Heat and Cold conditions 
The First Aid at Work course is 18 hours and can be delivered over three consecutive days or can be split into smaller sessions to suit your business needs.
We can offer a blended learning option with this qualification that reduces the face to face time by 6 hours, where the learners studies in their own time and completes the E-learning prior to the face to face that will be conducted over 12 hours. 

 Assessment.
The course comprises of practical and theory assessment that follow a continuous assessment approach with a multiple choice question set at the end of the course. 

This course is legally compliant with Health and Safety (first aid) Regulations 1981. We deliver accredited courses, this allows you to evidence due diligence with at any further paperwork and it ensures you that the course you receive it current, in date and relevant to the subject.
The qualification is valid for three years after which a requalification course will allow you to remain a qualified first aider.

Emergency First Aid at Work  

RQF Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work 

Who should attend?
Learners who wish to become emergency first-aiders in the workplace. 

What will you learn?
This qualification meets the requirements for training emergency first-aiders in those organisations that have identified that staff need to be trained to this level within their first-aid due to smaller numbers in the workforce, to back up First aid at work teams or where the time frame for help only requires Emergency first aider on site. 

What will the course teach me?
The qualification covers knowledge such as: 
  • The roles and responsibilities of the first aider 
  • CPR and use of an AED, 
  • Managing and unresponsive casualty 
  • providing first aid to a casualty who is choking
  • External bleeding and hypovolemic shock.
  • Minor injuries
This course takes just six hours to complete. It can be delivered over two, three hour sessions.
This qualification can also be delivered with a blended learning approach that will reduce face to face by two hours where the you study in your own time and must complete the E-learning prior to the face to face that will be conducted over four hours. 

Assessment.
The course comprises of practical and theory assessment that follow a continuous assessment approach with a multiple choice question set at the end of the course.

Level 3 Award in  Paediatric First Aid (RQF)

 This qualification is aimed at individuals wishing to become a paediatric first-aider in the workplace with a responsibility for the welfare of infants and children. This qualification is intended for learners already working or preparing to work in the industry and it meets the requirements for paediatric first aid outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage. 

How long will it take?
The Emergency Paediactric first aid is over 6 hours, this can be delivered with a blended learning approach, working with an online package for 2 hours the face to face hours can reduce to just 4.

What will the course teach me?
The roles and responsibilities of a paediatric first-aider
Assessing an emergency situation safely
CPR and AED
Managing a child who is unresponsive and breathing normally
Administering first aid to a choking infant or child
Placing a child in the recovery position

The second option for this course is the Full Paediactric First aid course.
This course takes just 12 hours to complete. It can be delivered in several ways including over four, three hour sessions.
This qualification can also be delivered with a blended learning approach that will reduce face to face by six hours, where the you study in your own time and must complete the E-learning prior to the face to face training that will be conducted over six hours.

Managing a child who is unresponsive and breathing normally

Kid-safe A 2 hour workshop.

 In this 2-hour course, anyone can learn the basics of CPR and how to resuscitate a baby, child or adult, and potentially save a life.
You’ll be taught the simple First Aid procedures you need to know, be given a chance to try out CPR on a variety of adult/child/baby mannequins, and be given an opportunity to ask any questions — its in a relaxed, informal, small group setting in your own home or a friends house.
Whether you’re a concerned parent, grandparent or just want to brush up on First Aid essentials, this course is for you.2 hour course providing theoretical and practical training in First Aid techniques that are specific to infants aged 0 to 1, and children aged from 1 year old to 18 years of age. 

In this session we cover the following areas:
CPR
Choking
Minor bumps & Bruises
Minor Bleeding
Head injuries
and any other relevant topics you want to include. 

The course lasts 2 hours and costs just £20 per person.
